Program Descriptions:

All children grow and mature at different rates and we have designed our programs and activities to reflect these developmental differences. The age ranges shown below for each program are given as a guide only. Your child will be placed and moved along according to his or her current developmental level.

A Brighter Future is a professional child development facility. The environment reflects a loving and caring atmosphere and the positive emotional climate that enhances every child's self esteem. Developmentally appropriate practices meet the changing needs of the growing, developing child. The program is balanced to give each child the opportunity to develop his/her social and physical and cognitive skills.

Our programs are fun...and each child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual potential will be positively developed through a stable, safe, healthy, and educationally enriching program which reflects a sensitivity to the needs and growth of children, parents, staff, and the community.

Our students are grouped according to their developmental levels and social maturity in order to meet each child's needs. Unlike many preschools, A Brighter Future is a Child Development Center that emphasizes proper placement of each child into the program in which he or she can feel comfortable, challenged and successful. Each child's progress is continually being evaluated and placement changes are made to enhance his/her learning.

Infant Program (birth through 24 months)

Our infants are separated into two rooms:

Baby: (birth through walking, approximately 12 months)
Older Infants: (Approx. 1 year through 18+ months)

Your child will transition into the Duckling room, our Older infant Program, when he or she is further developed and begins walking.

Toddler Program (18 - 30 months)

Your child will advance to the Sea Lion room, our Toddler Program, when he or she is between 18 and 24 months of age, depending upon level of development. Our Toddler Program is specially licensed by the State of California to serve the unique needs of this age group. This positive environment encourages your child to build independence and facilitate social interaction.

Young 2 Year Old Program (up to Approx. 32 months)

Children usually transition from the Sea Lion room to the Dolphin room, our ``Young 2´s program", when they have developed a longer attention span and improved communication skills.

Preschool Program (30 months - up to kindergarten)
Our Preschool program is divided into the following three separate subprograms. The ages shown for each subprogram are approximate. Each child is initially placed and advanced according to his or her level of maturity and comfort.

   Penguins (Approximately 2 1/2 years up to 3 1/2 years )
   Koalas     (Approximately 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 year olds)
   Cheetahs (Pre-kindergarten-approximately 4 1/2 year olds and up)
